Nomadboard privacy notice
Last updated: 2 November 2026
1. Who we are
Nomadboard, Oran, Algeria runs Nomadboard and is responsible for your data. Contact: hello@nomadboard.app.
2. The short version
- Your profile and trips stay on your device. The board works with no account.
- We hold your waitlist details and, once accounts open, your account and an encrypted copy we can't read.
- The site sets no cookies. Our counts never hold your profile, documents or trips.
- We don't sell your data.
3. What stays on your device
Your profile (passports, residence permits, visas, date of birth and the other answers you enter) and your trip log are stored on your device, and your answers are worked out there. On iOS and Android they are encrypted. In the web app they sit in your browser's local storage, which is not encrypted: anyone using that browser profile can read them, and clearing your browser data erases them, so export them first.
4. What we store
- Waitlist: your email, language, passport and residence country, which US, UK or Schengen visa you hold, if any, the signup date and the link you came from.
- Account and sync, once accounts open: your email and sign-in records and, if you turn on sync, your profile encrypted on your device with a key from your passphrase. We can't read it, or recover it if you lose the passphrase.
- Pro: which plan you have and until when. We never see your card.
- Corrections: what you report and your source link, without your account. Reports are copied to our private GitHub repository and stay in its history, so don't put personal details in them.
- Counts: app event names and site page views, without cookies.
- Technical logs: our hosts log IP addresses, browsers and pages requested, to run and secure the service.
5. Why we use it
Your consent for the waitlist and our email; our contract with you for accounts, sync and Pro; our legitimate interest for corrections, security and counts.
6. Services we use
- Supabase (EU): our database and accounts.
- Netlify: hosts the site and the web app.
- Sequenzy: sends our email. It gets your email and language only. Open and click tracking are off.
- Aptabase and Umami (EU): cookie-free counts of app use and page views.
- Paddle: our reseller and merchant of record for payments, under its own privacy notice.
- RevenueCat, when enabled: records which purchase gives you Pro.
- GitHub, when enabled: holds correction reports for review.
Some of these may process data outside the EU, including in the United States and the United Kingdom. We rely on their data processing agreements with the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified.
7. How long we keep it
We delete the waitlist 12 months after the public launch, or by 31 December 2027 if Nomadboard has not launched by then. If you unsubscribe first, we erase your details here, ask Sequenzy to delete your contact, and keep only your email, the dates and the unsubscribe code so we don't write to you again. Account, sync and Pro records stay until you delete your account; Paddle and RevenueCat keep their own records under their own terms.
8. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, object to its use, or withdraw your consent: write to hello@nomadboard.app. Every email has an unsubscribe link. Once accounts open, you can delete yours in the app. That does not cancel a Paddle subscription, so cancel it first. If you live in the EU, you may complain to your data protection authority.
9. Children
Nomadboard is not meant for anyone under 16.
10. Changes
We will post changes here and update the date above. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email if we have your address.
11. What Nomadboard is not
Nomadboard shows rules and sources. It is not legal advice, and it does not guarantee entry. See the terms.
